AMERICANISM
- Promoting patriotism and responsible citizenship. Includes the
Americanism Essay program for grades 3-12, flag etiquette and assisting The
American Legion with their Americanism programs.
AUXILIARY EMERGENCY FUND (AEF) - A fund that provides temporary financial
assistance to Auxiliary members during times of financial crisis or
disaster.
CHAPLAIN - Providing spiritual and emotional guidance to Auxiliary members when
needed or requested.
CHILDREN AND
YOUTH - Protecting, caring for and supporting children and youth, particularly
those of veterans' and military families. Recognizing Youth Heroes and
youth performing Good Deeds. Recognizing that Kids of Deployed are Heroes

COMMUNITY
SERVICE - Promotes the American Legion Auxiliary while members are volunteering
with other community groups, in schools, and serving the public.
CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS - How-to and information about the governance
documents of the American Legion Auxiliary at a National, Department, and Unit
level.
EDUCATION -
Providing classroom activities, literacy programs and other educational support
to children and adults, with a special emphasis on children of veterans and
active duty members. Provide educational opportunities through local,
Department and National scholarships.
FINANCE
- Ensuring the American Legion Department of Utah operates in a fiscally
responsible manner and within national, state and local laws and regulations.
GIRLS STATE/GIRLS
NATION - A week long program focused on responsible citizenship, leadership and
love of God and Country. Designed for girls between their Junior and
Senior year of high school. ALA Utah Girls State is held at Weber State
University in Ogden, UT. ALA Girls Nation candidates are chosen from ALA
Girls State programs for a similar experience in Washington DC.
HISTORIAN - Accurately recording the accomplishments and significant events of
the Auxiliary at the National, Department and Unit level.
HISTORY -
Organizing and compiling the records and materials at the Unit, Department and
National level to preserve our history and provide learning opportunities.
JUNIORS - Inspires Auxiliary youth under 17 to participate in Auxiliary
programs so they become engaging, productive members who want to continue their
American Legion Auxiliary membership as adults.
LEGISLATIVE - Advocating for veterans in support of The American Legion's
legislative agenda at all levels of government.
MEMBERSHIP - Educating the public about the American Legion Auxiliary and
inviting them to join us in carrying out our mission to assist veterans,
military and their families.
NATIONAL
SECURITY - Promoting a strong national defense by supporting service members
and their families. Includes Blue and Gold Star banners, Welcome Home and
Farewell activities, and POW/MIA recognition and remembrance.
PAST
PRESIDENTS PARLEY - Providing future Auxiliary leaders with mentoring and encouragement
from past leaders. Recognizing outstanding women through the Unit Member
of the Year and Salute to Servicewomen awards.
POPPY -
Educating people about the sacrifices of our military service members using the
image and story of the Flanders Field poppy. Includes the Poppy Poster contest for grades 2 - 12.
PUBLIC RELATIONS - Promoting Who We Are, What We Do and Why We Matter using
traditional and social media platforms.
VETERANS AFFAIRS AND REHABILITATION - Enhancing the lives of US veterans,
military and their families through activities such as Gift Shops and Stand
Downs and providing service to veterans and active duty members in their homes
and hospitals/care centers.
